Hello! My name is Jennifer Brayton (Jen) and I am 25 years old. I am a math teacher at North Kingstown High School, I work part time at Scituate Lumber, and I am taking three graduate courses. Needless to say, I am very busy!

Teaching is inspiring in so many ways. While it is my job to teach others, I cannot express how much those "others" teach me. I have been a teacher for 3 years and every day I leave work with more wisdom. Sometimes I am saddened by what I learn, other times I am excited. I am grateful for my job and cannot wait to see what the future brings.

I still consider myself a new teacher and there are many things that I would like to modify / improve. At the moment, my main focus is technology in the classroom. While I personally feel quite comfortable with technology, I do not feel as those I utilize all the appropriate teaching tools. With that said, this blog will be devoted to teaching with technology.

At this time I have a website that I use with all my classes. On this website students can find weekly assessment updates, class notes, homework answer keys, and more. Feel free to check it out!

  2. Hi Jen,

Your website is a fantastic tool for the students and their parents. I have noticed that the tools like Skyward or Edline don't seem to update in a timely fashion. With your own website, you have control over when the site is updates, and I think that is key when sending info out to the students. Nice work!

  4. You have a blessed career in teaching math skills. I want to sit in your class looks like it would be fun. I like what Paul said about having control over your website. Had not thought in that realm. Nice job (or good skill :)

  5. Very creative. Your program planning and evaluation pieces are well thought out. In my project I'm at the point of trying to create an evaluation piece that will improve my level of instruction as well as conveying the lesson more effectively.
